Privacy Policy
Last updated November 3, 2026
Ctrl/Alt is software that tailors and alteration shops use to run their business. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. If you're a client of a shop, that shop decides what it collects about you and has its own privacy page; we process that information on the shop's behalf.
What we collect
- Shop owners and team members: your email address, the shop details you enter (name, contact details, address, hours, prices, policies) and your role.
- Information shops enter about their clients: names, contact details, addresses for home visits, bookings, measurements, garments, invoices and messages. This belongs to the shop.
- Billing: your subscription is handled by Stripe. We keep the subscription status and Stripe's customer and subscription IDs, not your card number.
- Technical information: sign-in sessions (cookies needed to keep you signed in), IP addresses for security and rate limiting, and a log of the emails we send for each shop.
How we use it
To run the service: showing your booking page, taking bookings, sending the emails and reminders you've set up, processing payments through your Stripe account, billing your subscription, keeping the service secure and supporting you when you ask. We don't sell personal information, and we don't use shops' client data for advertising.
Who helps us
We use a small number of providers to run Ctrl/Alt: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments and billing), Resend (email delivery) and Cloudflare (domain and DNS). They process information only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Shop data is kept while the shop is open, so the shop can see its history. When a shop is closed, we delete its data after giving the owner notice and a chance to export it, except where we must keep records (such as billing records) for legal or accounting reasons.
Security
Each shop's data is kept separate from every other shop's, access is limited by role, sign-in uses one-time codes sent to your email, and traffic is encrypted. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Your choices
Shop owners can view, correct and export their shop's data in the studio at any time. To close your shop or ask about your information, email support@control-alt.com. If you're a shop's client, contact the shop first; we'll help them respond to your request.
Changes and contact
We'll update this page when our practices change and email shop owners about important changes. Questions: support@control-alt.com.
